It is vital to build more homes to give youngsters, key workers and those on lower incomes the chance to get a foot on the housing ladder. At the same time, the government’s approach to enabling local authorities to devise a Local Plan for building new homes has ensured stronger local democratic control over new development. We need positive incentives to ensure local communities build the homes for the next generation.
